This place was awesome. It is exactly what I wanted. It is on the Llano river and away from the crowds. Perfect for our little family. I stayed in one of the smaller cabins, but next time I would like to bring more people and stay in the bigger cabins. If you appreciate small town Texas and peace and quiet then you will love this place.

We always enjoy our trips to Castell. This is a great little town on the river. The general store across the street is where locals and visitors gather with their dogs for food and drinks. It’s a great atmosphere and the owners are great. The river here is beautiful and is a great spot if you like to trout fish or kayak or just like being on the water.

This was the exact getaway we were looking for! We were able to hike at two different state parks and there were tons of bass in the river close by. Perfect!

We rented all four cabins at El Castell for our family getaway and had an absolutely wonderful time! We contacted the host several times before our trip and they were very responsive and helpful. When we arrived, we found the cabins clean and well-stocked with everything we needed. The location right on the Llano River was unbeatable – we spent hours fishing (with great success), kayaking, and simply relaxing by the river. The outdoor spaces were ideal for our group to gather while still having privacy in our individual cabins. If you’re looking for a peaceful Texas Hill Country experience, away from crowds and a place to enjoy nature, this is perfect!

We stayed here for a women’s gravel cycling camp and it was perfect! We had all four cabins and it was more than enough space for 12 women and their bikes. The location is so peaceful and has easy access to great gravel roads. We went over to Llano for dinner one night and went to the local haunted house – it was super scary! Highly recommend if you’re there around Halloween! Would definitely come back to this hidden gem along the river.

Great place for a restful unwinding getaway, the location is great for Llano or Mason. Fire pit by the River provides great relaxation with sound of the River. The rocking chairs on porch allow lots of unwind time with watching wildlife and the Chickens from the Chick Inn, they are the official greeters.

We have been coming to Castell for 10 years and stayed at this location on our first trip and one other. You can’t beat the location across the street from the General Store and the property is right on the river. The current owners have done a great job adding to the property amenities. We will be back again for sure…

Stunning views! Friendly town. Great for groups! We had 18 adults, couples & singles. We rented all 4 cabins & the house. Easily could have slept more. Very comfortable and inviting. Spent most of the weekend by the river, at the fire pit behind cabin C & D, or on the deck between cabin C & D. All of us absolutely love our weekend there!

2nd time staying here and rented all 4 cabins with our big family. All kitchens were complete were complete with useful pots and pans, utensils, wine glasses and even an ice maker for each cabin! Responsive and friendly host also a bonus. We enjoyed a memorable stay in this beautiful place with a nice view of the Llano River.

Our multi-family group enjoyed our time at El Castell. Each cabin had everything we needed and the shared spaces allowed us to spend time together. Our ages ranged from 7-78 and everyone was able to relax and spend time together. The descriptions were accurate – the temperatures were cooler than we expected but the cabins were plenty warm and the firepit was perfect. We would highly recommend this place.

What a cool spot! wish we had more time to explore the area, we will definitely be returning this summer. staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and Castell was a fun hang for 48 hours!

Thank you so much for this peaceful stay! The General Store is JUST like a mini Luckenbach! My husband went looking for sugar, snuff and a burger and came out with all that plus guacamole and chips and queso for me! The walk to the river was at the back steps and would love to bring a group of us next time to enjoy! Thank you again!

I came for two nights with a close friend eager to unwind and soak up Hill Country charm and this spot was just the oasis we needed. The little town of Castell is authentically wonderful—we made friends with folks at the General Store, swam in the Llano River just in front of the main house and fell in love with the live music and great food

Wow! Absolutely amazing property. This is a gem that fit our group needs perfectly. The cabins are ideal for friends and family to have an amazing time to create wonderful memories. From the privacy and remote location we couldn’t ask for anything more. Cabins are clean and offer comfortable beds, cool A/C, functional kitchens and Wi-Fi throughout the property. The outdoor patio for family meals and games was perfect for our group. The direct river access and the ability to see the sunrises, sunsets, moonrise, views of the Milky Way, shooting stars and meteor showers left us all in awe and wanting to stay longer.

It was a beautiful stay, we also had our wedding here and it was absolutely beautiful. We couldn’t get enough compliments of how beautiful the area was and also how nice the event went. We highly recommend for a large family stay! We plan to stay again this summer!

We LOVED our stay in the adjoining cabins!! We came for the river but got a whole lot more! Perfect for our two families (with kiddos) and in-laws… so much that we are already planning a trip back and want to invite extended family to rent the whole property!! The river was amazing- we caught some trout and loved the outside cleaning station and dining area. So convenient! Looking forward to the next 🙂

We love the Castell Cabins! What a special place – relaxed and peaceful right on the river, yet just across the street from the iconic Castell General Store (with the BEST burgers and fun/casual atmosphere). Our kids love swimming in the river, and the fishing is also great. We spent slow mornings on the porch, enjoying coffee while watching the sunrise. And, with multiple cabins, we were able to stay with our family friends and each have our own space. Thank you for a perfect Texas weekend getaway!
